The Coach Effect: How to Experience Exhilarating Success Without Any Guilt.
Have you ever experienced being at the top of your game, and in a moment you find yourself experiencing a plateau effect, where you cannot seem to overcome a complacency of sorts and fail to amount to even greater success. Or maybe, you have been challenged by the same experiences that you continue to encounter time and time again, and despite your ability to change careers and or partners, you seem to experience the same outcomes. Or have you simply experienced having the feeling of being stuck, not getting any traction in whatever it is you are doing, and or having a life that is less then what you truly want.
If you have experienced any of these less then epic moments, that is PERFECT, because first of all it means you are a human being and completely normal, so congratulations for firstly admitting to your life experiences, which are very real experiences. With these experiences, we tend to find ourselves suppressing and ignoring what is (what we are currently experiencing), because we are programmed by society to believe that these types of experiences are not those likely of successful people. Well I can surely tell you that is a HUGE LIE!
There is Light at the End of the Tunnel
Although there is a differentiating factor amongst people who experience these types of events, and people who overcome these events. Those who seek support in overcoming their feelings of being “stuck” tend to create epic changes in their lives. The many people who find themselves stuck time and time again in these moments of despair tend to not seek help in overcoming their experiences. This “groundhog experience” can be less then favorable in most cases and also tends to be ego driven. The difference is that most successful people understand the value and critical importance of working with a coach. (Success in this case is defined by overcoming your life obstacles, learning from them and evolving to new challenges while you create a sense of confidence.) In doing so, you contribute to your growth and success, thus putting yourself in the category of successful people (if there was a category of sorts).
A coach is someone who can help you work through these less then favorable circumstances and help you shift your experiences to becoming epic moments in time that propel you beyond your wildest dreams into new paradigms that can enable you to grow and thrive like never before.
Coaches are that extra bit of motivation you sometimes cannot generate yourself. I have experienced the feelings of being ashamed because I could not find that inner motivation myself. With my ego in toe, telling me to figure it out myself is sometimes a similar process that people encounter and what can further block a person from accessing support and expertise that can further help them acquire the tools to continue to reach deep down within themselves and find that extra bit of motivation that was always there, waiting to be unleashed. The experience of working with a coach is similar in many realms of practice, such as vocal coaches, who’s purpose is to help talented individuals uncover an even deeper talent while they help their clients chip away at any barriers to accessing the talents they already have. Or a gym/athletic coach, who helps you reach for that motivation that was lying deep within you and all you needed was someone in tight pants yelling at you to reach for one more rep in your set.
A life coach, executive coach, employee coach and any kind of personal development guru is focused on – enabling you to continue to reach deep within yourself to access the tools and talents you already have, in an effort to bring you to place of fulfillment.
A Bit of Reflection…
Once I overcame my shame of not being able to motivate myself, and began to experience the world of coaching and being coached, my life changed in ways I could only have dreamed of. I look for epic events in my life a.k.a Life challenges and seek support to help me dig even deeper than I know I will allow myself to go on my own, and with that little bit of momentum I gain from working with my coach, I become empowered and ready to take on the world! And so, life challenges do become epic in deed, and empowering because I know that if I am feeling a bit lazy, or need a bit of inspiration or support to go a bit deeper and gain even more insight, I know I need to knock on my coaches door to gain that insight and empowerment, because in the end, it is I who am empowering myself by making a decision that is healthy and generative to my own success.
Cheers to Coaches!
